Red Cross seeking volunteer drivers
The Clearwater Red Cross is seeking volunteer drivers and dispatchers to operate its Transportation Program in North Pinellas, based at 2481 Sunset Point Road. Drivers and dispatchers are needed to fill assignments from 7:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Volunteer drivers will use Red Cross vehicles to drive those who have no other means of getting to critical medical and dental appointments.

Nonprofit needs items for homeless clients
CLEARWATER - The Homeless Emergency Project Inc. is a nonprofit organization that assists needy individuals and families with children and serves more than 1,000 people each year.
A Bring Items of Necessity project created and launched in June allows local businesses to serve as collection sites for food, clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies and other essential items used by HEP's clients.
A number of bay area businesses have had great success in raising awareness and needed items for the charity.
