One person was killed and four people were injured Friday night in a wreck involving two pickup trucks in eastern Hernando County. Kimberly B. Lee, 32, of 4228 County Road 575, Bushnell, was driving north on U.S. 301 in her 1996 Ford Ranger about 7:45 p.m. when she lost control and slid into the other lane and hit a 1998 Dodge Ram with four people in it, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Lee was killed. Patsy Wallingford, 64; Judith S. Folsom, 46, and Jessica M. Folsom, 14, were taken to the hospital in Dade City, and Joseph H. Folsom, 9, suffered minor injuries. The four people who were in the Ram live in Webster.
Free FCAT tutoring is being offered

Health department giving flu shots
The Hernando County Health Department, in cooperation with Maxim Health Care, will have a flu vaccination clinic from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brooksville Elks Lodge, 14494 Cortez Blvd., west of Brooksville. The cost for the flu shot is $25. Medicare Part B and other insurances will be accepted. Pneumonia shots will also be available for $40. For information, call 540-6800.
Holiday decorating contest under way
The city of Brooksville's Beautification Board is sponsoring its annual Christmas lighting contest for residents and businesses in the city limits. The Beautification Board will judge the entries on the evening of Dec. 12. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated home and best decorated business in the city.
