Making a save, lightning quick

ABOVE: Goalie Alexa Gabay-Curry makes a save against third-grade classmates Shawn Rhodes, left, and Ben Martin, during a street hockey game at Lakeview Fundamental Elementary School. The program was set up by David Cole and Wayne Rever of the Tampa Bay Lightning's fan development division. Last year, the team donated 80 hockey sticks, four full-sized goals and several goalie outfits. Teacher Jason Wood said the gifts were the only way kids would be able to play as the school couldn't afford the hockey equipment.

RIGHT: Alexa said she liked playing goalie because it allowed her to "conserve my energy."
