Pinellas All-Star Classic: Players to watch

Published Dec. 7, 2006

There have been many stories of players receiving scholarship offers after playing in the Pinellas Senior All-Star Classic. Take 1994, the first year of the game. Former Countryside punter Mike Kilgore was an alternate and played after two others backed out. He eventually signed with Virginia Tech. And former Clearwater receiver Chris Daniels didn't catch a pass in the game but signed with Purdue. Here are a few players who could be next.

Skinny: The Blue Jackets' Mr. Everything played quarterback, running back and safety.

Quotable: "Coming from a small private school, people don't think I can hang with these guys. I've got to show my talent."

Jaime Center

Calvary Christian running back/linebacker

Vince Hollingsworth

Dunedin linebacker

Size: 5-10, 200

Skinny: A hard hitter with soft hands, Hollingsworth constantly came up with the big play, including an interception to seal win against Countryside.

Marcus Santini

Seminole running back/defensive back

Josh Zorland

Palm Harbor U. wide receiver/defensive back

Size: 6-3, 210

Skinny: An ankle injury forced Zorland to miss the first half of the season. He came back and was a leader on both sides of the ball.
