John Vitale's name is usually associated with the Vitale Brothers, a family business known for decorative painting, murals and commercial projects. He's going solo for "Family Man," an exhibition of fine art he has been working on that uses a pop art style to create a sort of visual autobiography. Shown here are two examples.
He opens the show Friday at a party at Gallery 2200, 2200 First Ave. S, St. Petersburg at 8 p.m. He says the reception is a family affair, like his art, with all the Vitale kin pitching in to make "an Italian feast," he says, with music, food and entertainment. It's free and open to the public. The gallery is open by appointment. For information call (727) 688-4011 or go to www.vitalebrothers.com.
