The next round in Nancy Robinson vs. Rose Rocco is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. Rocco's attorneys have asked for a stay pending an appeal. In nonlawyer speak, that means Judge John Booth could rule on the whole caboodle or grant a stay and decide nothing much at all about the residency dispute at the heart of the case, said Rocco's attorney, Jennifer Blohm. Rocco won the District 2 County Commission race by 1,444 votes on Nov. 7. But Robinson challenged the win in court, saying Rocco can't take office because she didn't live in the Spring Hill district on Election Day. The four-term former commissioner says the seat is still hers. Booth temporarily barred Rocco from taking the oath, and Robinson wants that made permanent. Rocco appealed it. Whatever else happens Monday, one thing is certain, Blohm said: "However he rules, one of us will probably be appealing."
Educator applies for Tellone's job

The board has set a Jan. 9 deadline for applications and plans to interview finalists for the position in March.
