Donate magazines

Davidsen Middle School is asking parents to send in old magazines appropriate for middle school students. The magazines will be used by homeroom teachers. The homeroom that collects the most magazines will win a breakfast party. Please black out your name and mailing address. The school's yearbook is on sale for $30 until the beginning of winter break. Alonso High, 356-1525: The school's holiday book fair is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the school, 8302 Montague St.

Bartels Middle, 907-6801: Yearbooks will be on sale through today.

Bellamy Elementary, 872-5387: Chick-fil-A night for the school will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at 6299 W Waters Ave.

Bryant Elementary, 356-1645: Today, the school is collecting canned nonperishable foods. Donation boxes are at the car rider and bus dropoffs.

The PTA General Assembly and Holiday Chorus Concert will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the school, 13910 Nine Eagles Drive.

Uniforms will be on sale from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesdays this month.

Citrus Park Elementary, 558-5356: The school's Giving Tree will be up until Dec. 15. Donations of new, unwrapped toys and gift cards from local retail and grocery stores are being accepted. Parents are invited to donate an ornament for the tree.

Clark Elementary, 631-4333: The school's media center book fair ends today.

Deer Park, 792-5111: The holiday gift shop will be open from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and 3 to 4:15 p.m. today.

The school's Toys for Tots drive lasts through Wednesday. Bring in any new, unwrapped toys to Mrs. Fowler in Portable 73.

Farnell Middle, 356-1640: Candy Grams will be for sale from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. today.

Freedom High, 558-1185: The school will be hosting Mort Elementary first- and second-graders from 10 a.m. to noon today at Freedom Fest.

Non-perishable items for the food pantry can be dropped off in collection bins at the front of the school.

Empty ink jet and laser printer cartridges can be turned in at the front office. The PTSA receives cash back on these items.

McKitrick Elementary, 558-5427: The school's holiday shop will be open today.

Pride Elementary, 558-5400: A winter holiday program will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the school, 18271 Kinnan St. The third grade Fairy Tale Bowl will be at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 15 in the media center.

Schwarzkopf Elementary, 975-6945: The annual holiday program will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gaither High, 16200 N Dale Mabry Highway.

Magnet applications: The application period for magnet programs and school choice has begun. It will last through Jan. 26. Students can apply for a magnet school or another school with available space. Visit or call (813) 272-4692.
