State Sen. Mike Fasano is accepting entries for his 13th annual legislative essay contest for high school students. Two winners will be selected to serve for one week each in Tallahassee as a page in the Florida Senate during the 2007 legislative session. Students ages 15 to 18 in public, private or home-school programs are eligible to participate. Essays must be at least 100 words, answering the question: "What is the most important issue that Gov.-elect Charlie Crist should tackle once he is inaugurated and why?" Dinner-dance set for Christmas Day

The Polish American Social Club will host a Christmas Day Dinner Dance Dec. 25 at the clubhouse, 7615 New Jersey Ave. Doors open at 12:15 p.m. The dinner selection is traditional kielbasa with ham and pierogi, or chicken Parmesan. The dinner, which will be served from 1 to 2:30 p.m., will include the traditional Christmas wafer. Dancing to the music of the Music Blenders will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 for members and $14 for nonmembers. To insure entree selection, reservations should be made by Dec. 17.
