Randall Scottow, 24, waits for a large Florida softshell turtle, right, to resurface at Sawgrass Lake Park in St Petersburg. A self-employed graphic designer from St. Petersburg, Scottow says he recently took up photography because of his love of nature. Scottow said his father introduced him as a child to the park on 25th Street N. He said he has become a regular at the park, documenting creatures from spiders to alligators. Larger Florida softshell turtle are probably female, which can grow up to 24 inches long. The males grow to 12 inches long.
