Charred remains are left behind Monday from a small fire that broke out Friday evening at Plumb Elementary School in Clearwater. The fire destroyed three picnic tables, damaged the pictured cement wall, burning off a mural that was painted by students. The heat warped blinds inside and cracked windows in a nearby classroom. An oak tree was also burned. No police report on the incident was available Monday but school officials suspect the 820-student school on Lakeview Road might have been a victim of arson. Principal Sandra Leanes estimated the damage at $7,000 to $10,000.
