A FEEDING MACHINE

Mark Koehn glances back at a flock of cattle egrets following his bulldozer and plow to munch on disturbed insects that pop out as the soil turns over. Unlike other egrets and herons, the cattle egret rarely spends time in water. Where they are feeding, a former pasture just east of Trinity, will become a strip of single-story office buildings.
