Bring the kids out for the Family Fun Fishing Day, cosponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Seminole Breakfast, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Pinellas County Parks and Recreation Department, and Sweetbay Supermarket of Seminole.
The event offers kids a chance to try their hands at angling. Fishing poles and bait will be provided. Experienced anglers are welcome to bring their own poles.
Prizes will be awarded to kids 14 and under for the first catch, largest fish, multiple catches and more.

A variety of weekly events and activities for teens are offered at the Seminole Community Library, 9200 113th St. N. Preregistration for the Thursday activities is required.

Preschool program for kids 3 and 4 years old
The city of Seminole offers a new preschool program this fall for children ages 3 and 4 at the Seminole Recreation Center. The program will include story time, play time, music, art and other learning activities. It will be available in half-day and full-day sessions. Registration begins at the end of August.

Recreation division offers ballroom dancing
Seminole Recreation is offering beginning social ballroom dance for kids ages 8 to 12 and adults. The basics of social, standard, swing, cha-cha and more will be taught. The fee for each four-week session is $36. Youth classes are 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., and adults will be taught 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday. Volunteers are needed for reading program
The Kiwanis Club of Seminole Breakfast is looking for volunteers to be part of its preschool reading program.
This is a volunteer opportunity for youths, seniors and couples who enjoy reading to others.

Community group off until September
The Unincorporated Seminole Community Association (USEM-CA) meets at 7 p.m. the third Thursday of the month at the Seminole Community Library.
However, the group will not meet in July or August but will reconvene in September.
The group is open to residents of the greater unincorporated Seminole area.
Boundaries run roughly from Ulmerton Road south to Tyrone/Bay Pines Boulevard and from the east, Belcher Road west to the Intracoastal Waterway.
