HEADING TOWARD A NEW TAIL

Winter the dolphin, top, glides across Panama, an older female dolphin that has taken on the role of Winter's surrogate mother, Tuesday at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Winter, who is getting a prosthetic tail, is the subject of a segment that a CBS Early Show crew is recording Thursday and Friday to air at a later date. Winter was rescued in December 2005 after being wrapped in the line of a crab trap, causing her to lose her tail. When rescued, she weighed 55 pounds. She's now up to more than 180 pounds. Hanger Prosthetics, which is making the tail, will be at the aquarium Friday to introduce her to the material that will be used for the tail to help her get used to it.
