HARRY POTTER BOOK DISCUSSION TODAY: Join guest speaker Colette Bancroft, St. Petersburg Times book editor, for a discussion of the latest installation of the Harry Potter series.
The discussion will focus on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling and will address the question: Is this the last word on Harry Potter? The discussion is open to participants of all ages who have finished the book.

SALUTE TO JACK KEROUAC: The St. Pete Beach Public Library has stockpiled ample copies of Jack Kerouac's 1957 classic On the Road as part of its 50th Anniversary Book Club Series. The library will host a discussion on the book Thursday at 2 p.m. at the library.
DOWNLOADABLE BOOKS: The library is offering a new service to cardholders: downloadable audio books. Holders of St. Pete Beach public library cards may check out books, ranging from fiction, biographies and memoirs, to self-help titles, foreign language study texts and more. The audio books can be played on home computers and any MP3-powered device (but not iPods). The circulation period for the downloads is seven days. Saturday open-air market at rec center
Suntan Art Center and the city of St. Pete Beach are hosting a year-round Saturday Market Place.
Shoppers can enjoy live music while browsing for fresh baked goods, produce, handcrafted art and more.

Free movies for kids are at Beach Theatre
The Beach Theatre is offering free movies for kids on Saturday mornings. This Saturday's scheduled film is the 1978 classic Superman starring the late Christopher Reeve.

A reunion of students, teachers and parents connected to Pass-a-Grille's Sunshine School is being organized for November. CAUSEWAY BRIDGE IS CLOSED THIS WEEK
The Treasure Island Causeway Bridge will be closed this week as construction on the new causeway bridge nears completion. The bridge will reopen to traffic on Friday at 6 a.m. Additional closure time may be necessary during the week of July 30. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 25 at the St. Petersburg side of the bridge.
