NEW PORT RICHEY
A grand jury on Tuesday indicted Michael Robert Glidden for first-degree murder in the June 2 shooting death of Daniel Russell Keller. Glidden is accused of killing Keller, 21, near a Baptist church at 40443 Stewart Road in Zephyrhills, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report. Keller's body was discovered on a road less than a mile from his home about 3:30 a.m. The report said he was found about 30 minutes after he told his family he was leaving to talk to his girlfriend about getting back together. The report said Glidden, 20, admitted to shooting Keller. He then fled in a car he stole from his stepfather, authorities say. He was arrested June 28 in West Virginia and charged with grand theft auto. Glidden, who is being held in the county jail without bail, could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted.

Brother accused of stealing bird
Pasco County Sheriff's Office deputies have found a bird that had been missing since Monday. Joseph and Maria Tocco arrived at their Spring Hill home Monday evening to find that their cockatiel was missing, along with its cage, a Sheriff's Office report said. Maria Tocco told deputies that she suspected her brother, 42-year-old James Walsh of New Port Richey, of taking it. Walsh's wife returned the bird, the report said, and deputies arrested Walsh for burglary. He's being held at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
