NORTH SHORE PARK POOL UPDATE WILL ADD SLIDE, MORE

ST. PETERSBURG

THE CITY OF ST. PETERSBURG IS UPDATING NORTH SHORE PARK WITH A NEW CHILD-FRIENDLY POOL. THE 30- TO 40-FOOT SLOPED POOL WILL INCLUDE WATER CANONS, WATER BUCKETS THAT TIP OVER AND A MULTIFLUME SLIDE. AN ESTIMATED $54,000 FROM THE CITY'S RECREATION FUND HAS BEEN EARMARKED TO PAY FOR CONSTRUCTION, WHICH SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY OCTOBER, CITY OFFICIALS SAID. THE POOL WILL BE OPEN YEAR-ROUND.

Florida residents with hearing loss can receive amplified telephones and specialized equipment for free at the Deaf and Hearing Connection for Tampa Bay.

Free hearing screenings, other assisting equipment and low-cost hearing aids also are available at locations across Pinellas County.
