Walt'z Fish Shak at 224 Boardwalk Place in Madeira Beach will hold "Christmas in July" from 6-9 p.m. today.
Enjoy the food and music, and help the Clearwater Aquarium. Every dollar will go toward the aquarium's rehab and turtle nesting programs.

Vendors can sign up for SPCA Pet Walk
The 17th annual SPCA Pet Walk is Oct. 20. Vendors interested in supporting homeless animals and exhibiting their products and services to more than 2,000 pet lovers should apply as soon as possible.
The early bird deadline to register booths is Aug. 11 for $175. After this date the fee will increase to $225. Festivities run 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Back-to-School Care Fair offers medical exams
Getting the school year off to a good start is important to students and their parents. That's what the Junior League of St. Petersburg's Back-to-School Care Fair is all about.
That tradition continues Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Johnnie Ruth Clarke Health Center, 1344 22nd St. S. Free medical exams, immunizations, vision checks, dental screenings and backpacks filled with school supplies will be available to at-risk children in St. Petersburg's Midtown and Childs Park areas.
All children receiving services and supplies must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Animal agencies will host bird adoption event
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Tampa Bay and Safe Haven Avian Placement Services will host a Bird Adoption Sunday noon to 4 p.m. at 9099 130th Ave. N., Largo.
Dozens of exotic birds - from perfect parakeets to caring cockatoos, to marvelous macaws and everything in between - will be looking for new homes.
Safe Haven provides rescue, education and permanent placement services for homeless companion birds. Potential adopters should be able to commit several hours a day to interaction with the birds.
Bring completed applications with proof of an appropriate-size travel carrier.
