HENRY B. PLANT MUSEUM WILL CLOSE FOR NEW CARPETING

DOWNTOWN

The Henry B. Plant Museum will be closed to the public July 31 through Aug. 13 for the installation of new carpeting in the Grand Hallway.

The carpeting will match that of the University of Tampa's, using an English-made, Turkish Yaprak pattern from the 1890s. The museum will resume normal hours on Aug. 14.

GANDY/SUN BAY SOUTH

Flag dedication is Saturday

The Gandy/Sun Bay South Civic Association, in conjunction with the Honor Guard from Legion Post 38, will perform a flag dedication Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Center of Sun Bay South, 4207 W Oklahoma Ave.

State Rep. Faye Culp, R-Tampa; City Council member John Dingfelder; and Shannon Edge, the city's director of neighborhood and community relations, will attend.
