Block party: Forest Hills United Methodist Church will host a block party from 6-9 p.m. Friday at 904 W Linebaugh Ave. The event includes free food, games and activities. Parent's morning out program: Keystone United Methodist Church is accepting applications for its 2007-08 program. Classes, for children ages 18 months to 3 years, will run from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. $20 per class; registration, $25 (nonrefundable). Vacation Bible school: "Lift Off! Soaring to New Heights with God'' will be presented at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. The high-flying adventure, for ages 3 to 11 (must be potty-trained), will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday to Aug. 3. Registration is open; space is limited. The cost is $30 per child. The hot-air-balloon-themed VBS will feature Bible stories, songs, science and recreational activities, snacks, and a mission project. Children will connect what they learn to reaching new heights with God. VBS will be at Pebble Creek Community Center on Bent Tree Drive, off Pebble Creek Drive and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. Theologian to speak: Spirit of Life Unitarian Universalists Church, 18412 Burrell Road, Odessa, holds a worship service at 11 a.m. Sundays. Sheila Harty will speak about intellectuals, faith and dogma. Call (813) 792-1622.

Summer nights: The Youth Ministry at House of Prayer Church hosts Summer Nights on the first and third Saturday of each month during the summer. Highlights include praise and powerful words relevant to their generation, sports, fellowship, fun in the park and food. Unitarian Universalist service: The worship service is at 11 a.m. Sundays at Unitarian Universalist Church of Tampa. Coffee with conversation is immediately afterward. House of Prayer Church events: House of Prayer Church has special celebration services at 6 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month. The focus is on believing in God for your health, finances, marriage or any area in your life. A membership class is offered at 1:30 p.m. on the first, second and third Sundays of each month. Traditional and contemporary services: Grace Lutheran Church of Carrollwood has traditional worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sundays.
