Sheriff's investigators are looking for James R. Collins, who they say robbed three banks in Pinellas County.
Collins, 35, was identified through tips from the public, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
The first robbery took place just after 12:30 p.m. July 17 at the Cornerstone Bank at 5800 38th Ave. N in St. Petersburg. The following day, the Wachovia Bank at 3131 66th St. N was robbed about 4 p.m. On Monday, another robbery occurred at the Wachovia at 8700 Bryan Dairy Road in Seminole.
The robber handed tellers a note asking for cash, but authorities are not releasing how much money was stolen. No weapon has been spotted, and no one has been injured. The robber apparently fled on foot, said Sgt. Jim Bordner of the Sheriff's Office.
It's unclear whether Collins is in the area. He has been booked in the Pinellas jail five times the last two years. Anyone with information should call Detective Jeremy Nygren of the sheriff's robbery unit at (727) 582-6200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS.
