THE EYES HAVE IT

If looks could kill, you wouldn't want to get a stare from Zsa Zsa, a hamadryas baboon, as she rests in her cage Tuesday after eating banana leaves at the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in Palm Harbor. Zsa Zsa is the alpha female among five female baboons the sanctuary adopted in 2006 from a Sun City sanctuary. The baboons, believed to be 25-35 years old, are retired circus animals. The ancient Egyptians considered the hamadryas baboons to be the sacred attendants of Thoth, the scribe to the gods, according to the BBC's Science and Nature Web site.
