Hurricane prep: A hurricane preparedness seminar will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Town 'N Country Family Support and Resource Center, 7520 W Waters Ave. The seminar will focus on disaster planning and preparation. Call (813) 356-1703.


Harry Potter party: Lutz Branch Library, 101 Lutz-Lake Fern Road, will host a Harry Potter Series Finale: Teen Readers' Celebration for students in grades 6 and up starting at 2 p.m. Events include Potter trivia, book discussions and Hogwarts treats. Costumes are encouraged. Call (813) 273-3652.


Public meeting: A public meeting to discuss traffic problems along Lake LeClare Road will start at 6:30 p.m. at Austin Davis Public Library, 17808 Wayne Road, in Odessa. Driver safety: AARP is offering a two-day driver safety class from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at University Community Hospital, 2100 E Fletcher Ave. The cost is $10. Book donations: It's All About Kids is sponsoring a book and supply drop for students in kindergarten through 12th grades at 12520 Tinsley Circle. Weight management: The University of South Florida Health Management Program is offering a 10-week weight management program from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 10 on the USF campus, 4202 E Fowler Ave. Seating is limited, and the registration deadline is Sept. 3.
