After a 5-2 vote by the Orange County Commission, the Magic is set to get a new arena in downtown Orlando. The commission approved a $1.1-billion plan that includes a new arena, a performing arts center and upgrades to the Citrus Bowl. Alex Martin, the Magic's COO, said the plan now puts the Magic in Orlando "for its entire life.'' And all the upgrades mean Orlando could start going after Final Fours, Super Bowls and other coveted sporting events.
