IDENTITY OF VICTIM IN FATAL CRASH STILL NOT RELEASED

As of midday Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol had not yet released the name of the man who died Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash at U.S. 98 and Citrus Way, north of Brooksville.

The FHP said the man's next of kin had not been notified.

Authorities said the man was going west on Citrus Way shortly before 6 p.m. Friday when his Pontiac sedan collided in the busy intersection with a Ford F-350 pickup towing a 27-foot boat.

One man and two women traveling in the car were taken by helicopter to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.

Their identities and conditions were not available Saturday.

Three children and the pickup's driver were taken by ambulance to Brooksville Regional Hospital.

The FHP also did not release their identities, and their conditions were not known.
