Husband accused of machete attack

A man struck his wife with the flat side of a 30-inch machete, leading to aggravated assault and domestic battery felony charges, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said. Gregorio Torres Jaral, 40, was being held at the Land O'Lakes jail Sunday in lieu of $6,000 bail. Jaral's wife, Eva, told police her husband swung a machete into the ground in her direction late Saturday, saying, "I should kill you." Then he struck her in the hip with the flat side as his sons watched, according to a Sheriff's Office report. There were indications the husband had been drinking alcohol, the report said.
