Black & Decker GH1000 Grasshog XP String trimmer/edgers

Company: Black & Decker Inc.

Why? The trimmer/edger's spool, spool cap and pieces of trimmer string can come loose during use and become airborne, posing a laceration hazard. The trimmer/edgers can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

What models? The Black & Decker GH1000 Grasshog XP String trimmer/edgers are electric-powered. Trimmer/edgers with date codes 200546 through 200645 (representing manufacture dates of Nov. 14, 2005, through Nov. 6, 2006) are included. The date code is on the underside of the trimmer/edger's handle. Only trimmers with black spool caps are included.

Where sold? Major home center and hardware stores.

Playskool Toddler 'NoSpill' sippy cups

Company: CVS/pharmacy.

Why? Young children can chew through the plastic spout of the cup, which could present a choking hazard.

What models? The Playskool Toddler "NoSpill" sippy cup is an 8-ounce, clear plastic cup with red trim, red and yellow handles, and a yellow tip; blue trim, blue and green handles, and a green tip; or purple trim, purple and aqua handles, and an aqua tip. The serial number is 382814, which appears on the back of the packaging.

Where sold? CVS stores.

What to do? Return the cup to any CVS store for a refund.

Nissin shrimp-flavored noodle products

Company: Nissin Foods.

Why? The seafood-flavored powder used contains cod and lobster. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cod or lobster may run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these specific shrimp-flavored products.

What models? Nissin Original Chow Mein Shrimp and Nissin Cup Noodles Shrimp. Nissin Cup Noodles Shrimp was also sold through Wal-Mart stores under the label "Great Value Instant Shrimp," at Winn-Dixie stores under the label "Thrifty Maid with Shrimp Oriental Noodles with Vegetables," and at Aldi grocery stores under the label "Jehling Ramen Noodle Soup Cup with Shrimp and Vegetables."

Where sold? Grocery stores.

What to do? Customers will receive a refund and a supplemental coupon if they send the UPC code to Nissin at 2001 W Rosecrans Ave., Gardena, CA, 90249.

Pottery Barn Kids crib bumpers

Company: Pottery Barn Kids.

Why? The decorative stitching on the bumper's edge can come loose, posing an entanglement hazard to young children.

What models? The Diamond Matelasse, Floral Matelasse and Polka Dot Matelasse crib bumpers made of 100 percent cotton. The Diamond Matelasse bumpers are white and have decorative thread in pink, blue, green, yellow or chocolate stitched along the scalloped edge. The Polka Dot and Floral bumpers come in assorted colors with matching decorative stitching. A label on the bumper reads, "pottery barn kids."

Sauder TV stands

Company: Sauder Woodworking Co.

Why? The TV stand can collapse if the fasteners used to connect the metal legs to the lower shelf are not completely tightened.

What models? The stand measures 23-3/4 inches high by 38-1/2 inches wide by 19-1/2 inches deep with a brushed maple finish. The stand has criss-cross, black, wrought-iron legs, a pull-out drawer and a lower shelf. Model number 400205 and UPC number 42666 01958 are on the product's carton and instructions.

Where sold? Wal-Mart stores, Wal-Mart.com.

What to do? Stop using the TV stand if it moves from side to side. Contact Sauder for instructions on checking the tightness of the fasteners.

Sky Rangers Park Flyer radio control airplanes

Company: Estes-Cox Corp.

Why? The airplanes are launched by hand and can explode near the consumer's head, posing a risk of temporary hearing loss and injuries to eyes, face and hands.

What models? The Model 4116 Sky Rangers Park Flyer radio control airplane, which comes with a black battery charger. The airplanes have a wingspan of about 14 inches, a light blue, white and orange polystyrene foam fuselage and a copper coil on the rudder. Airplanes with a warning sticker on the fuselage near the on/off switch are not included in the recall.

Where sold? Hobby stores and other retailers nationwide.

What to do? Contact Estes-Cox for instructions on returning the airplane for a replacement product.

Suzuki Aerio cars, 2002-06 models

Company: American Suzuki Motor Corp.

Why? A retaining clip that keeps the five-speed manual gear shift cable attached to the gear shift lever could break, resulting in an inability to shift gears.

What models? 2002 through 2006 Suzuki Aerio models with five-speed manual transmissions.

Where sold? Suzuki dealers.

What to do? Call a Suzuki dealer to arrange to have the clip replaced. The recall is expected to begin about Aug. 10.

Log splitters

Company: Brave Products Inc.

Why? The log splitter's hydraulic cylinders can have defective rod retention, causing the seals to leak and the rods to detach. This can result in serious injury to the operator, as the rod can rapidly and unexpectedly extend the splitting wedge.

What models? The splitters are made of steel and painted orange and black, or blue and black. They have trailer hitches and rubber tires. Each log splitter has a decal on the side that reads "Brave Products Inc." or "Iron & Oak" and "__ ton" (either 15, 22, 26, or 34).
