NEW PORT RICHEY
Gov. Charlie Crist will be the guest of honor at CARES' Annual Benefit and Recognition Dinner on Sept. 24 at Spartan Manor. Making his first Pasco appearance since being elected governor, Crist will be honored "for the concern he has always shown for the welfare of elders in the state of Florida," said Bill Aycrigg, president/CEO of Community Aging and Retirement Services. The contributions of seniors will also be recognized, Aycrigg said. State Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, and Dr. Rao Musunuru are co-chairmen of the event; Secretary of State Kurt Browning will also attend. Sponsorship opportunities are available; proceeds will help support home care for the elderly and CARES-specialized support services. For information, call Aycrigg at (727) 862-9291, ext. 224, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
