Florida's men's basketball team will make its second straight appearance in Tampa this season as part of a schedule that includes 16 teams that participated in postseason play last season.

The Gators, who played FAMU in front of 15,000 last season, will play Vermont on Nov. 30 at the St. Pete Times Forum.

The national champs open the regular season hosting the Blue Ribbon Challenge, a four-game series that includes home games against North Dakota State, Tennessee Tech, UNC-Central and Rutgers. Florida also will face instate opponents Stetson, Jacksonville and FAMU and plays at Ohio State in a rematch of April's national final.

Once again, the Florida State game will serve as a prelude to the football game. The Gators host one day before the football game that also in Gainesville.

Wolverines, Irish extend football series

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Michigan and Notre Dame agreed to a 20-year extension that has them playing annually through 2031. The series, which dates to 1877, was to expire after 2011.

"It is a game our players and alumni and every college football fan deserves," Michigan coach Lloyd Carr said.

ARKANSAS: Senior starting defensive tackle Marcus Harrison likely will miss the season opener against Troy with a torn left ACL sustained during a March practice, the school said.
