A pair of Tampa Bay area arts administrators are moving on.
J. Christopher Fahlman, general manager of the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg, is leaving at the end of August. Fahlman, 56, moved from Texas to work for SMG, the company that runs Mahaffey for the city, in November 2005 and presided over the reopening of the theater after a $20-million renovation. His departure is "basically a personal decision," said Fahlman, who expects SMG to name a replacement soon.
The Florida Orchestra is losing its director of development, Bill F. Faucett, 45, who starts a job this month with Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center as director of endowment and planned giving. Faucett, who has a doctorate in historical musicology, was with the orchestra since 2005, and before that was executive director of the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. Jillian Alpert, 40, is the orchestra's interim development director.
