GIRLS GET TIPS TO SURVIVE MIDDLE SCHOOL

TAMPA

Every new middle school student worries about fitting in. So even though it's the Girl Scouts who are putting on a workshop this weekend called "Surviving Middle School," you don't have to be a Girl Scout to participate.

"Surviving Middle School" will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Girl Scouts of Suncoast Council headquarters at 5002 W Lemon St., Tampa. It's open to any girls who will be entering middle school, and the cost is $8 for Scouts, $10 for all others.

Topics include ways to handle middle school stress, how to deal with the dress code and a Q&A session with older girls who have made it safely through. This is the fourth year for the program, which was the idea of Girl Scout Troop 660 in the Brandon/Riverview area. To register, call Amy Foster at (813) 281-4475, ext. 299.
