A community show of support is being organized for fallen Hernando soldier Pfc. Cody Grater following the 10 a.m. services Saturday at the Spring Hill Baptist Church . Supporters are encouraged to line up along the procession route with American flags. The procession is expected to last from 11 a.m. to noon and will go from Spring Hill Baptist (Mariner Boulevard and Linden Drive), north on Mariner, turning east onto Elgin Boulevard, north on Broad Street, right onto Truck Bypass 50 to Interstate 75. One of the three winning tickets of the Florida Lottery's Fantasy 5 drawing on Monday was purchased at the Wrap Pak N Ship at 8566 Forest Oaks Blvd. The three winners will each receive $72,256.45 of the $216,769 prize. The other two tickets were purchased in Miami and Auburndale.
United Way needs more volunteers
United Way of Hernando County needs volunteers to meet growing needs for its Volunteer Hernando program and the volunteer reception center, which is activated during a disaster. The United Way also encourages businesses to implement employee volunteer programs. A rally for volunteers is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the United Way office, 4042 Commercial Way, Spring Hill.
