Attention artists: The Altered Minds (Pasco Surface Design Group) will meet at 10 a.m. Aug. 14 at the New Port Richey Library, 5939 Main St. This meeting is open to artists in all media in which a surface is being designed or altered. For information, please call Terry Montaldo (727) 842-5023.

- Tacos: 3 p.m. every Sunday. Cost: Two tacos for $3.

- Dinners: 5 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday. Menu varies. Donation: $6.

Wednesday sales: The First Class Thrift Shop at 5901 U.S. 19, New Port Richey will have a special 50 percent discount on all purple tag items each Wednesday during August. Proceeds benefit the Good Samaritan Free Health Clinic. The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For information or to volunteer, call (727) 849-1425.

Elfers Centennial Garden Club: Dorothy Bomemann, master gardener, will present a program on preparing table arrangements from your cutting garden and table settings. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 13, at the Centennial Park Library, 5740 Moog Road, Holiday.

Holiday Recreation Complex schedule: The park, located at 2830 Gulf Trace Blvd. in Holiday, has the following activities during August. Call (727) 943-5843 or (727) 942-7439.

- Walking hour from 9 to 10 a.m. every Monday through Saturday. This is an ongoing walk for adults. No charge.

- Open gym: Call for a particular day and time of interest.

- Badminton: 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday and 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday. Open to all ages. No fee.

- Karate: 6:15 to 8:45 p.m. every Monday and 6:15 to 9:45 p.m. every Thursday. Ages 6 to adult. Cost: $45 per month. Additional family members cost $35 per month. Visitors welcome. Call center for information.

- Adult Tennis Lessons: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, for ages 16 to adult. Cost: $10 per class or $40 per month. Call the center for details.
