BLUDER, Alberta Carlson 87, of Clearwater, died Jan. 15, 2008, at Arden Courts, Largo, under hospice care. Born in Custer, IL, reared in Gardner, IL, she came to Clearwater from San Diego, CA in 1965. She retired as a baker from the Pinellas County School Food Service Department. Alberta was a homemaker, and enjoyed bowling, playing solitaire, traveling, and ushering at Ruth Eckerd Hall. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League of Clearwater. Survivors are Arthur Bluder, her husband of 67 years; a daughter, Esther Abdel-Hameed of Charlotte, NC; a son, Richard Bluder, of Safety Harbor; 2 grandsons, Tyler Bluder and Tarik Abdel-Hameed; 2 granddaughters, Suzanne Lewis and Shireen Abdel-Hameed; 2 great-grand-children, Joshua and Jenna Lewis; and several nieces and nephews. HAMIL, Martha Sue Sharitz 71, beloved wife of Joseph M. "Scotty" Hamil (deceased), passed away on Jan. 2, 2008, after a year-long illness from lung cancer. Martha was born and raised in Wytheville, VA, the daughter of Henry K. Sharitz and Gladys P. Sharitz (both deceased) of Wytheville. A graduate of Redford College, class of 1958, Martha taught art and moved to Roanoke, VA, where she started her lifelong career with the Veterans Administration, as an art therapist, then as a recreation specialist. In 1974, Martha accepted a position as Chief of Recreation Therapy at Bay Pines VA Hospital, until she retired in 1990. Martha is survived by her son, David J. Hamil, and her daughter, Kelly H. Norman. Our family will forever be thankful to God for giving us her wonderful presence in our lives. MAAK, Charlie Howard "Charlie" of Largo, died peacefully at Hospice Woodside on Tuesday, Jan. 15 with his niece and favorite chaplain at his side. He was looking forward to reuniting with his much beloved wife, Mildred, who was featured in the St. Petersburg Times and on Channel 10 as "Charlie's Angel," as Charlie worked tirelessly to raise money for Alz-heimer's research by designing and drawing Christmas stationary in her memory. Charlie was born in Cinncinnati, OH, on Feb. 13, 1918, and was predeceased by his loving parents and sisters. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Core in the 1930s and proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Air Force. He married the love of his life, Mildred Chaney, in 1941 and celebrated a glorious 60 years of marriage, before her death in 2002. Charlie spent most of his life in Georgia, retiring from General Motors Assembly Division as Director of Personnel in 1973. He was particularly proud of those he hired who went on to have positions of great responsibility in the corperation. Charlie kept up with these people through various means of communication. He became quite a computer buff in recent years, as it allowed him to communicate with friends all over the world, whom he met through work and his worldwide travels. Charlie was such that he made great friendships with people he met only briefly. He was beloved by all who met him. A lifetime member of Atlanta's DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, Charlie was active in civic affairs in Georgia. Charlie is survived by his niece, Carole Chaney Oliver, of Largo; and numerous cousins and many friends. Charlie has been cremated and a Memorial Service is planned for later. MITEVSKI, Branko P. 67, resident of Westerville, OH, and Clearwater Beach, died at OSU Ross Heart Hospital, on Jan. 16. Born and raised in Bitola, Macedonia, he graduated with bachelor's degree from Belgrade University and a master's degree in chemical engineering from Ohio State University. He served in the Yugoslavian Army, and moved to the U.S. in 1969 and worked as a chemical engineer at Western Electric. He bought and operated two Easy Living Delis in Columbus and the Town Shores Market in Gulfport. He was a member of St. Mary Macedonia Orthodox Church and a former chess champion who loved skiing, playing soccer, and spending time with his grandchildren. O'Keefe (predeceased), founder of O'Keefe's Restaurant in Clearwater. ROBIE, Kathleen Lynch (Jessie) Maryland's Mother of the Year, 88, of Gulfport, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, under Hospice care. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, William F. Robie Sr.; and her identical twin sister, Eileen Moon. She is survived by her daughters, Eileen White, of Gulfport, and Nancy Hill, of Great Falls, VA; and her son, William Robie Jr., of Round Hill, VA; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Robie was born in Knoxville, TN, on May 27, 1919, and lived in Ohio, North Carolina, and Florida before moving to Maryland where she settled and married William Robie in 1936. She was an active civic leader nationally and internationally. She was a life member of the Associated Country Women of the World and attended 15 world conferences. She served on the United Nations Committee which met every 3 months in London. She was a life member of the National and Maryland Congress of Parents and Teachers as well as the President of the Maryland PTA and the National Program Chair. She was a state honorary member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She received an honorary degree from the University of Maryland for contributions to agriculture. She was a delegate to the Maryland Constitutional Convention to rewrite Maryland's 100 year old constitution. She spent 12 years as a member of the Maryland State Board of education and was appointed by four governors. She was President of the Maryland State Homemaker's Council and the editor of their national publication and international committee chairman. She was a member of the Port Tobacco Maryland Daughters of the American Revolution, past matron of the Indian Head Maryland Eastern Star and presented by the governor as Maryland's Mother of the Year. Kathleen and Bill were snow birds for 25 years until settling full time in their home at Town Shores of Gulfport 10 years ago. Since living in Florida full time, she retired from her civic duties, but still traveled the world with her family and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gulfport and the Town Shores Pool Group. SAGE, Martha Wasson passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Manor Care in Palm Harbor, FL. She was born in Indianapolis, IN, on Oct. 30, 1921. Her strong Christian faith began by being raised in a Quaker family. She was the youngest of 4 children, with brothers, Richard and Myron, and sister, Rachel Cody, who have preceded her in death. She was the devoted wife to Charles D. Sage, who passed away in 1987. A dedicated mother to Sally Hall (Gary), of Albuquerque, NM, Charles Michael Sage (Cathy), of Anchorage, AK, and Vicki Frayer (David), of Holiday, FL. She had 7 grandchildren and 8 great-granddaughters. She enjoyed the reality of family and friends scattered across the country, awaiting her many visits. She was a branch manager for Indiana National Bank, where she was employed for 20 years. A lifetime member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and she was a member of the Union Chapel United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, IN. After retirement and moving to Palm Harbor in 1989, Martha was active with the St. Andrews Lassies and the Highlands Lakes Women's Golf League. She worshipped as a member and busy volunteer at Palm Harbor United Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed her fellowship, as a money counter on Monday mornings. She would like to be remembered as a devoted family leader, faithful follower of Jesus Christ and for her fun loving spirit! This would include her "Hole in One!"
