CLEMONS, Lance L. 60, of Brooksville, died Jan. 22, 2008. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he moved to Florida in 1975. He enjoyed a professional baseball career in the 1970s, playing for several teams including the Boston Red Sox and the Kansas City Royals. He was a teacher and coach at Springstead High School, before becoming a dedicated employee of UPS for 20 years, until his retirement. He was placed in Radnor High School (PA) Hall of Fame in 2006, and in West Chester University (PA) Hall of Fame in 1992. He graduated from West Chester University in 1969. SCHMICK, William G. 85, of Tampa. The angels came to take him to be with the Lord on Jan. 22, 2008. He was born June, 1 1922, to Charles F. and Elsie K. Schmick in Steelton, PA. He graduated from John Harris High School in Harrisburg, PA, and later from Lehigh University. He was very proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. For most of his career he worked for Hewlett Packard in the Washington, D.C. area in Government Relations. After retiring, he relocated to Sarasota, and then later to Tampa in 1994. He was a devout Christian and loved teaching Sunday School. He was preceded in by his parents; his first wife, Jean E. (Shearer) Schmick; and his second wife, Helen L. (Zinkham, Petcovic) Schmick. He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Schmick Robbins and Kymberly A. Schaefer; son-in-law, Walter W. Robbins Jr.; brother, Donald Schmick; sister-in-law, Helen Schmick; his beloved granddaughters, Torey Schaefer Barr and Casey Schaefer and the pride and joy of his life, great-grandson, Aiden Barr.
