FIRST BAY AREA ART SHOW STARTS TUESDAY

HYDE PARK NORTH

Tampa Realistic Artists' first Bay Area Art Show starts Tuesday and runs through March 14. The opening reception is 6 to 9 p.m. Fridayat the Old Hyde Park Art Center, 705 W Swann Ave.

Refreshments will be served, and award announcements will be made. Exhibition hours are noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Call the art center at 251-3780.

Bimonthly magazine launches Web site

Bimonthly New Heights Magazine launched its Web site, www.NewHeightsMag.com, this week.

The magazine features stories written by residents living and working in communities including Seminole Heights neighborhoods, Tampa Heights, Riverside Heights, West Tampa, downtown Tampa and Ybor City.

Drop off book sale items at hospital

St. Joseph Women's Hospital Auxiliary needs used paperback and hardback books, DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes and cassettes for its third annual book sale.

Residents who would like to contribute should drop off donations at the hospital's gift shop or volunteer office, 3001 W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The book sale is 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 6 at the hospital. Call 476-1889.

Three take office in Temple Youth group

Three students from Congregation Schaarai Zedek were elected to regional offices in the North American Foundation of Temple Youth-Southern Tropical Region.

Tyler Benjamin was elected president, Josh Holtzman was elected programing vice president and Daniel Landesberg was elected membership vice president. All are members of the Schaarai Zedek Federation of Tampa Youth Group and serve as teacher assistants in the Schaarai Zedek Religious School.

Garden club to host open house Tuesday

Moonlight Garden Club, a Tampa gardening group that meets evenings and weekends, will host an open house and happy hour Tuesday at Bloom Garden Shop, 2991 S MacDill Ave. The free event runs 6 to 8 p.m. Call the shop at 805-2151.
