George and Ira Gershwin's melodies resonate in the rich voices of jazz greats like Billie Holiday and Dorothy Dandridge, and their work has been played by some of the greatest orchestras around the world. In 1924, the brothers dabbled in the world of Broadway with their hit, Lady, Be Good, which starred Fred and Adele Astaire. Tonight, the Florida Orchestra pays homage to the dynamic couple by means of a Super Pops concert that's all about Gershwin. The program will showcase George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with Canadian pianist Michael Kim, along with a variety of George and Ira Gershwin hits. Conductor Richard Kaufman will be joined by two vocalists in a mix of such favorite tunes as Strike Up the Band, Summertime, Oh Kay and Girl Crazy. 8 p.m.; Morsani Hall, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Tampa; $26-$54.
