Applications are now being accepted for the 2008 Miss Zephyrhills Scholarship Pageant, which will be held at 7 p.m. March 15 at the Zephyrhills High School Auditorium. This year the pageant has grown to include three titles, Miss Zephyrhills (ages 17-24) open to Zephyrhills residents only. Miss Friendly City (ages 17-24) and Zephyrhills Jaycees Outstanding Teen (ages 13-17), open to residents of Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Hernando and Hillsborough counties.
All titleholders will compete at the 2008 Miss Florida pageant held in St. Petersburg at the Mahaffey Theater in June. Contestants can e-mail Diane Kennedy at email@example.com to request an application and additional information on becoming a contestant.
The deadline to enter the pageant is March 1. Mardi Gras celebration planned for Thursday

Black heritage to be focus of program
The Zephyrhills Historical Association meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Depot Museum, 39110 South Ave. in Zephyrhills.

Bike rally has different levels of riders
The Tour de Trilby Bike Rally will begin at the Trilby Community Center at Trilby Road and Trail Crossing Saturday. Intermediate and advanced riders will start at 7 a.m. and amateurs begin at 8.
The trail is a 47-mile-long one-way trip for pros (94 miles round trip from Trilby to Dunnellon, above Inverness in Citrus County).
A 10-mile round trip from Trilby to the Ridge Manor/ SR 50 Pavilion is good for amateurs or regular riders and runners.
