Officers of the Tampa Police Department's Quick Uniform Attack on Drugs Squad arrest Kenneth Richardson on Tuesday. Richardson was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. QUAD Squad officers posed undercover as drug buyers on Tuesday, which marked the 20th anniversary of the squad's inception. Squad officers made 14 arrests. When police Chief Steve Hogue, who worked as a supervisor for the squad, briefed police officers before the operation, he said, "Twenty years ago, crack cocaine was epidemic. It was absolutely out of control." He added, "I think anybody who worked the street can attest it's different (today)." Hogue also thanked the community for its support.
