KIDS WAITING FOR ADOPTION ARE THE HEART OF EXHIBIT

The Heart Gallery of Pinellas and Pasco provides a way to connect children with families through a traveling exhibit featuring the faces and stories of foster children ready for adoption. A new gallery of photos will be presented Thursday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen-Booth Road, Clearwater. The local gallery is an independent, charitable organization.

School volunteers will be honored

Fifteen outstanding Pinellas school volunteers will be presented to the School Board on Tuesday and honored on April 22 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. At the event, a winner will be announced in the youth, adult and senior categories. They will represent the district in the state outstanding volunteer competition. The 15 are:

Region I:Scott Guinand, Paul B. Stephens School, youth; Melissa Folks, Ridgecrest Elementary, adult; AnnMarie DeSocio, Pinellas Central Elementary, senior.

Region II: Alex Maiorana, Ozona Elementary, youth; Daniel Carlson, Ozona Elementary, adult; Ivan Haase, Leila G. Davis, senior.

Region III: Brian Millan, Palm Harbor Middle, youth; Helle Hartley, Southside Fundamental, adult; Allen Plunkett, Tarpon Springs Middle, senior.

Region IV: Tahnou Vongkoth, Dunedin High, youth; Lynn Arthur, Lakewood Community School, adult; Milton Goggans, Dunedin High, senior.

Region V: Emily Gray, Walsingham Elementary, youth; Bonnie Monroe, Kings Highway Elementary, adult; James Cleary, Blanton Elementary, senior.
