DELVE INTO PLACES FAMILIAR, YET MYSTERIOUS

Elisabeth Condon paints, prints and collages landscapes. Sort of. They're really more points of imaginative departure. For example, in Summit, shown, we see a Chinese temple and motor scooters. Okay, we think: journey, faraway place, tourist. But the temple is not perched on a mountain. It's nestled in . . .what? A sort-of flowering plant? It recalls lines by poet E.E. Cummings: "Somewhere I have never traveled, gladly beyond any experience." We can follow where Condon leads in an exhibition opening Saturday at Bleu Acier, 109 W Columbus Drive, Tampa, with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. For gallery hours, go to www.bleuacier.com or call (813) 272-9746.
