Sidney Crosby, who sustained a high ankle sprain Jan. 18 against the Lightning, returned to practice with the Penguins but still is not close to returning.
"If you want a prediction, it's not going to happen," Crosby said. "Wishful thinking would be a couple of more weeks, but I really don't know. It's the most frustrating thing to really go through because two days you can feel pretty good and one day you can wake up and it's sore."
Flyers: Joffrey Lupul, out since Jan. 5 with a spinal cord contusion, has been cleared to play today. The right wing, who has 16 goals and 35 points in 39 games, collided with teammate Derian Hatcher.
Senators: Daniel Alfredsson says he will return for good today. The team's leading scorer with 32 goals and 68 points in 48 games has missed the past four games and six of nine with a hip flexor.
