The Mitchell Heights Heath Awareness and Restoration Board is sponsoring an open house at 10 a.m. today to introduce the community to its new office. Looking for a cat? Here is some help

Two adopt-a-thons with Home at Last Pet Adoptions are planned for today: from 10:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. at Petco, 7223 Coastal Blvd., and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pet Supermarket, 4316 Commercial Way. A variety of cats and kittens will be available for adoption. All have been spayed or neutered, have age-appropriate vaccinations, have tested negative for feline leukemia and AIDS, have identity microchips and have been treated for parasites. Group wants to give peace a chance

Antiwar activists from the Nature Coast Coalition for Peace and Justice will demonstrate against the Iraq war from 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at the southeast corner of Commercial Way and Cortez Boulevard. Anyone wishing to participate is welcome.
