A SWEEPING FLOURISH OF FANCY FOOTWORK

The couple, from the Montreal area, live in St. Petersburg six months a year and were among dozens who gathered to listen and dance to the Downtowners, who play swing, Latin music and waltzes. Free dances at the Pier are the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from noon to 3 p.m. Ballroom dancing at the Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N, St. Petersburg, is every first and third Wednesday. Lessons begin at 11:30, and live music is 1 to 3:30 p.m. Coliseum admission is $5. It costs $2 extra for the lesson.
