A portion of Fort Dade Avenue will be closed Tuesday through Feb. 26 as CSX Railroad begins major maintenance on its line through Hernando County. This work, which will continue through March 26, will affect nearly all the grade crossings in Hernando at one time or another and will result in extended closures. Detour routes will be posted. Detour maps are available at the Hernando County Sheriff's Office and substations, fire stations, the Brooksville Police Department, the Hernando County Government Center, Brooksville City Hall and the Hernando County Public Works Department. Learn CPR at class set for Feb. 28
A CPR class will be offered at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Spring Hill Enrichment Center, 11375 Cortez Blvd., behind Oak Hill Hospital. The course is certified by the American Heart Association and the American Safety and Health Institute. The instructor will be Bob Kanner. The class includes mannequin practice; it is designed for the professional health care provider, but anyone interested is welcome. The cost is $20. Seating is limited.
