Spring Hill

Orientation sessions set for freshmen-to-be

Springstead High School will hold freshman orientation for eighth-graders and their parents at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday in the school gym, 3300 Mariner Blvd.

Monday's meeting is for eighth-graders attending Powell Middle, Notre Dame and Challenger K-8 schools.

Wednesday's meeting is for eighth-graders attending Fox Chapel, Parrott, Gulf Coast, J.D. Floyd and West Hernando middle schools.

HoneyBaked Ham to host blood drive

The HoneyBaked Ham Co. and Cafe will host a blood drive with the LifeSouth bloodmobile from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at 4638 Commercial Way.

Blood donors will receive a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a HoneyBaked Ham sandwich.

To donate, you must be at least 17 and weight 110 pounds. Photo ID is required.

Library's free movie will be 'Transformers'

Hernando County Public Library will have a free viewing of the movie Transformers at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive.

This action-adventure film is rated PG-13 and is based on the 1980s cartoon that pits the Autobots against the evil Decepticons. When they wage war, they choose Earth as their battleground.
