Alzheimer's Family Organization: The following programs are offered through the Alzheimer's Family Organization to residents of Hernando, Citrus, Pasco, Sumter and Lake counties:

- Caregiver support groups - 1 p.m. Mondays, Spring Hill Enrichment Center (behind Oak Hill Hospital), 11375 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill; Maria Curley, (727) 856-2196; and at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Hernando Beach Club, 3169 Flamingo Blvd., Hernando Beach; Betty Breeden, 596-2442.

- Respite Assistance Program - Respite assistance is provided for caregivers of a dementia or Alzheimer's disease sufferer. The Alzheimer's Family Organization also will provide other national respite resources that can reimburse costs to caregivers.

African American Health Fair: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Wal-Mart Supercenter, 13300 Cortez Blvd. The fair is sponsored by Wal-Mart, Amerigroup Health and Oak Hill Hospital. Screenings and health information offered, along with students from Pasco-Hernando Community College's nursing facility. Games for the children and a drawing will be available. Hernando-Pasco Hospice: Volunteer training, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, 698 S Broad St. The two-day training session will offer attendees the chance to learn about the nonprofit agency and how to become a vital part of the volunteer team. Spring Hill

American Cancer Society's "Look Good ... Feel Better" program: 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 28, Florida Cancer Institute, 7154 Medical Center Drive. Free and open to all female cancer patients in active treatment. Learn beauty techniques to help combat the appearance related side affects of treatment. Reservations are required. Heart Matters 2008 seminar: 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oak Hill Hospital, 11375 Cortez Blvd. Dr. Adel M. Eldin, board certified in cardiovascular disease and specializing in interventional cardiology and internal medicine, will present the For Your Health Community Education Series. Gastric Bypass Support Group: 6:45 p.m. today, 4212 Las Palmas Ave. The Gulfcoast Central Florida weight-loss surgery group for people considering weight-loss surgery. Ed, 597-2895.

Health Fair: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, Changes Adult Fitness Center, 1244 Mariner Blvd. Free food and giveaways, free chair massages and fitness information. Ali-Med will provide information on home medical equipment, women's health, rehabilitation, and mobility respiratory services and special pediatric needs services. Health screenings will be available from 10 a.m. to noon. A Medicare benefits consultant will answer questions. 200-4680.

Leukemia/Lymphoma Support Group: 5 p.m. Tuesday, Florida Cancer Institute, Suite 203, Medical Arts Building at Spring Hill Regional Hospital, 10441 Quality Drive. Jeff Haight, 688-7744.

Senior Strength and Stretching classes: 12:30 p.m. Monday and Friday, Changes Adult Fitness Center, 1244 Mariner Blvd. The classes are free and gym membership is not required.
