MAJESTIC WARRIOR TO LOUISIANA

George Steinbrenner's Majestic Warrior, who has not raced since his first loss in the Champagne Stakes on Oct. 6 at Belmont Park, will make his first start as a 3-year-old against Risen Star Stakes winner Pyro in the Grade II, $600,000 Louisiana Derby on March 8 at the Fair Grounds, trainer Bill Mott told the Daily Racing Form. The prospective field also includes Tale of Ekati, Blackberry Road, Yankee Bravo and Visionaire.

Derby Lane: McAllister Kennels' Flying Stanley ($2.60) remained undefeated Wednesday after two qualifying rounds in the $85,000 Sprint Classic at the St. Petersburg greyhound track. Flying Stanley has 32 points and leads 16 dogs into Saturday's third round. Other second-round winners: LaRosa Enterprises' Red Dirt Road ($4.60), D'Arcy's Ballet Lady ($18.80) and Charter's Djays Itchintogo ($4.80). Red Dirt Road clocked the fastest 550-yard time at 30.33 seconds. Sixteen dogs were eliminated with the point cutoff at 10.
