BERRY, Leon T. 71, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. He was born in Portland, ME and came here in 1977 from Providence, RI. He was a self employed land-scaper. He was a member of Elks and Moose Lodges. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joanne L.; two sons, Michael and Steve, both of Providence; four daughters, Kimberly Berry, of Providence, Edie L. BRADLEY, Eleanor L. 89, of Port Richey, passed away Feb. 21, 2008. Eleanor "Hon" was predeceased by her husband Bill ('81) and her children Kaye ('89) and Ron ('08) and is survived by her daughters-in-law, Barbara and Marlene Bradley; grandchildren, Rich Bradley and Michelle Bradley-Carley; and great-grandchildren, Dan, Victoria, Sarah, Michael and Ashton Bradley. BROWN, Virginia J. 86, of Brooksville, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at her daughter's residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Atlanta, GA, she moved to this area in 2004 from Largo. Mrs. Brown enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling and her family. BURNS, Robert J. 85, of St. Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 in South Pasadena. A devoted husband and father, he served in the Navy during WWII as a patrol bomber pilot. After the war, he earned a degree as a mechanical engineer at IIT in Chicago, IL where he was born. He loved boating with his family and building remote control model airplanes and boats. A member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Robert is survived by his wife Catherine of 63 years; son Michael and wife Cynthia, San Clemente, CA; daughter, Catherine and husband Gary Carter, Ft. COOK, L. Rodney, MD of Anchorage, AK, passed away at Providence Hospital, Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, after a brief illness. His mother, Frances Cook and his long time companion, Debi Roblin were at his side. Rod was a radiation oncologist, and medical director of the Cancer Therapy Center at Providence Alaska Medical Center since 1993. His mission was to provide the best possible cancer treatments to those patients entrusted to his care. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park, March 1, 2008, at 11 am in Savannah, GA.

DOUGLAS, Lady Charlotte Maria Marr wife of Sir James Douglas, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008. She was born in Rome, GA on April 27, 1946. She was the daughter of Lionel and Elminie Marr; mother of James Larney Douglas Jr., James Lamarr and Laura Douglas, Matthew and Jennifer Douglas Templeton, and James Lamont and Tara Douglas; grandmother to Alaya Douglas, Logan Douglas, Daniel, William and Claire Templeton; sister to James and Chris Marr, Lenora Marr Hall and Woodfin and Shirley Marr and multiple loved nieces and nephews. Her accomplishments include a graduate of Bauder College, state beauty queen, Neauvou model of the year 1968, director of the prestigious Caroline Leonetti School of Fashion in California and an integral moving force in the establishment of various Christian educational endowment trusts throughout the U.S., Damed a Lady of Grace in London England in 1981, was a co-developer of the world famous Wildwood Acres angus cattle breeding ranch of Rome, GA, co-renovator of the family castle of Fawside in Tranent, Scotland, world traveler and benefactress to youth everywhere, but above all, a lover of life, a tutor of values, an exemplary example of a maker of friends and a care giver personified for these last mentioned attributes of character, above all else, shall she be remembered and cherished. DRUSBA, Elmer 85, of Seminole, FL and Bethlehem, PA, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Tampa General Hospital. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Drusba, of Bethlehem, PA, and the loving husband of Dorothy Stacy Drusba and the late Norma Sanne Drusba. He retired from the USAF in 1962, as a Lt. Col. He flew in the Berlin Airlift in WWII, was a member of the 330th Transport Squadron, and was honored by the National Hurricane Center in Miami as the first pilot to fly a B29 into hurricanes on weather missions. He was an avid amateur radio operator and was a member of the American Legion Post #252 in Seminole. He was a member of St. Anne of Grace Episcopal Church, Seminole, and Trinity Episcopal Church, Bethlehem, PA. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Stacy Drusba; 3 step-sons, Richard, Darryl, and Keith Stacy; 1 step grandson, Scott; and 1 step great-grand-daughter, Riley. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at 11 am at St. Anne of Grace Church in Seminole. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church. ELDRIDGE, James W. 84, of Pinellas Park, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at 7:20 pm in Columbus, IN. Mr. Eldridge retired from Swift and Company in Hammond, IN in 1970, then from Lever Brothers in Whiting, IN in 1989 as a chemist, where he had worked for 19 years, and was a Union Steward at Lever Brothers. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Griffith, IN, and Skyview Church of Christ in Pinellas Park. He was an Army veteran of WWII serving with the 82nd Airborne-508th Parachute Infantry Company A. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. James was born in Huntsville, AL on Feb. 3, 1924, the son of Albert and Myrtle Schrimsher Eldridge. He married Irene Suschkewitsch on April 27, 1947. Survivors include his wife, Irene; children, Alice Sue (Jim) Lanning, of Merrillville, IN, James Ronald (Fran) Eldridge, of Pearl River, LA, and Douglas Earl Eldridge, of Pinellas Park; brothers, Howard (Betty) Eldridge, of Connersville, IN, George T. (Lillie) Eldridge, of Seffner, and James Eldridge, of Hammond; a sister, Margie Travis, of San Pierre, IN; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. HOCHSTEIN, Irving 85, of Mainlands, Pinellas Park, died Feb. 16, at Consulate Nursing Home, surrounded by family. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving in Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He moved here from his home town of Wilmington, DE, in 1979. He was an active member of the Elks, BPOE #2281, Newark, DE, serving as Exalted Ruler from 1977-78, and remained a member; also a member of American Legion Post #273, Madeira Beach. LEWIS, Marilyn Wever of Belleair Bluffs, passed away Feb. 21, 2008, from cancer. She was born Oct. 22, 1927, in St. Petersburg to Milton Lee and Olive Holmes. In June of 1947, she married James Robbins Lewis Sr. They had 3 sons, James Robbins Jr., John Carlton Sr., and Robert Wever Sr. James Jr. lost his life Dec. 7, 1968, in the Vietnam War. Marilyn became a successful realtor as well as a member of the Morton Plant Meese Foundation. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. MacGOWAN, Blanche 94, of Hudson, died Feb. 13. Talented writer of light verse, she wrote weekly poem in the St. Petersburg Times under the pseudonym "Innocent Bystander." Survived by son, Thomas, of Hudson.

MARKETT, Ann Hays 74, passed away last weekend. She was born in Tampa, and grew up in Arcadia, FL. After graduating from FSU, she married Ray Markett and went on to raise two beautiful daughters, Beth and Kathy. Ann dedicated her life to music as a teacher and later as a music therapist at G. She was a wonderful homemaker, who enjoyed helping people, caring for her home and family. MOORE, Maurice Henry Passed peacefully on Feb. 21, 2008, at Marliere Hospice Care Center. Born Feb. 14. 1925 to the late Maurice W. and Sereda Moore of Elm Grove, Wheeling, WV. He graduated from Linsley Military Institute and WVA University. He served in World War II and Korea. He was employed for 28 years by Michael Bakenda Consulting Engineers, Brighton Twp. He was a member and past president of the Beaver Co. Society of Professional Engineers, a member of the American Legion, Highland Lakes Association, retired member of the Beaver, PA Volunteer Fire Department and a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Tarpon Springs. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Roberta "Bobbie"; son, Rev. Robert W. MORTON, Mary E. Craig 90, a resident of the Masonic Home, joined her loving Lord and family in Heaven on Feb. 21, 2008. Born and raised in Knoxville, TN, and after her marriage, she and her husband moved to St. Petersburg. She was the "matriarch" of the family who loved, prayed, worried and adored her family and friends. After her husband's death in 1964, she worked and retired from Colt and Dumont. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Morton, parents, sister, Bernice Crippen, 4 brothers, Hobart, Herbert, H. Guy and H. B. Craig, Jr., and son-in-law, K. Michael Tomasieski. PAROLA, Violet 83 of Seminole, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008. She was born in Vandergrift, PA and moved to Seminole in 1998 from West Palm Beach. She was a registered nurse, earning her degree at Delaware Memorial Hospital and working in OB/GYN at Holy Redeemer Hospital in PA. Violet enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her family; she was very much a lady. RIBORDY, Edith Pillatt Reynolds died Feb. 3, 2008, in Irvine, CA, at age 102. Born Jan. 12, 1906, in Chicago, IL. She was a 1928 graduate of the University of Illinois. She married Thomas George Reynolds, also an Illinois graduate, and lived in ten different states during that 35-year marriage. She earned a masters degree from Drexel University and taught history. Her interests were numerous and varied, from the League of Women Voters, the PTA, Mental Health, the Garden Club, her church, music and especially family. She played the piano and washboard. She married Myrel Ribordy in 1965 and moved to Palm Harbor, FL. Widowed in 1987, she moved to Dunedin and lived there until her recent move to Irvine to be near family. Survivors are son and daughter in law, Tom and Pat Reynolds, Malta, OH; daughters and sons in law, Barbara and Don Barney, Doylestown, PA, Kit Reynolds and Mike Schwimmer. ROBISON, Pauline Ann 83, passed away on Feb. 21, 2008, at Ridgecrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in DeLand, Florida. Mrs. Robison was born in Avella, PA, on June 23, 1924, to John and Anna Waisley Palochak. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park, before leaving area in 2005 to move to DeLand. Pauline was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and shopping before her death. YOUNGWORTH, Frieda 84, was born in Passaic, NJ, April 12, 1923, and departed this world Feb. 15, 2008, in Mesa, AZ. Loving wife and mother, she was widowed in 1966, and continued to raise her daughters alone. She retired to Clearwater, in 1992 and Mesa, AZ, in Sept. 2007. Although her children were top priority, other family and friends relied on her support. Everyone loved her sunny personality and generosity. She dedicated many years volunteering for Girl Scouts, Deborah Hospital Foundation and crocheting for those less fortunate. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis and sister, Elizabeth.
