The recently concluded series of concerts by the Frank Parsons' Big Band at Richey Suncoast Theatre was so popular that the band has been invited back for the 2008-09 season.
Most of the concerts were sold out, with many patrons clamoring for tickets to future concerts at intermission and staying late after the shows to get them.
Tickets for next season will be on sale through June 30 by calling (727) 842-6777and leaving a message. The theater is at 6237 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey.
"We'll call back to arrange seat selection and confirm," said Charlie Skelton, president of the theater board.
The theater box office will close in July and reopen in late August before the theater's 2008-09 season starts.
Parsons' 17-member band includes several professional musicians as well as amateur musicians, and frequently has professional guest performers. The members play a mix of classics, swing, pop, blues, Broadway and novelty tunes.
The upcoming season includes eight concerts from Oct. 22 through May 13.
Individual tickets cost $9. All eight shows are $56 (a savings of $16); five shows are $35 (a savings of $10). All seats are reserved.
