Super Dave Warner of Old Town brings the crowd to its feet during the recent season-opening Crash-A-Rama 2008 at East Bay Raceway Park, near Gibsonton. After impaling the RV with his junker, Warner crawls out the back window, smiling. The car is still smoking behind him, hanging improbably in midair. The story, in his words:

I watched the Carpocalypse when I went to Ocala four years ago, and I was hooked. I've been doing this for about two years, and now I go around the country doing it. After the crash, rescue workers ran up to me to make sure I was okay. They were all yelling, but I could hear them just fine. Nothing was broken. Nothing damaged. I'm fine. Always. Sometimes on the interstate ... when people get road rage, when the traffic is at a standstill, I always joke to my wife that I wish I was in my other car. My stunt car would be fun out there.
